From the Desk of Victoria Hurst
Dear Roosevelt Families,
Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed a relaxing vacation, and a little break from the daily routine. At this time in the year we are busy reviewing and revising some of our annual plans, including the School Safety Plan. Although the specifics were included in the first day packet, I would like to take the opportunity to review some of our emergency procedures. Each month we practice a fire drill and throughout the year we also practice lock down and earthquake drills. Our students and staff are well prepared in the event that an emergency should occur.
Unfortunately, we have not had the opportunity to include our Roosevelt families in an emergency drill. If we were to encounter an emergency on campus, the student pick up procedures are extremely specific. Please review them with your family and discuss an emergency plan.
-
All students will be released from the Lincoln Gate.
-
Students will be released by grade level (K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th).
-
Students will only be released to adults who are on the emergency card.
-
Adults will be required to show picture i.d.
-
Adults will sign a student release form at that time.
-
Students who are not picked up during their grade level pick up will be escorted to the auditorium. After students have been released by grade level, students waiting in the auditorium will be released to adults that are listed on the emergency card.
Thank you for taking the time to review these procedures. As you can see, it is very important to keep your emergency cards current and up to date. Please stop by the office to update your card when necessary.
Thank you and may you enjoy a safe and happy new year.
Sincerely,
Victoria Hurst
